"Island of Evolution"
A ten page article written and illustrated by myself exploring the unique evolution of Madagascar, featured in "The 'Why' Issue" of the Duke Lemur Center Magazine
About this Project:
While avian flu has historically consisted of containable seasonal outbreaks, the virus is now endemic, there is a constant prevalence in both wild and domestic bird populations across the United States. This shift has led to record-breaking case numbers and poultry deaths, devastating the livelihoods of poultry farmers and increasing the risk of human transmission. In response to this ongoing crisis, I have created an interactive multimedia website that serves as a guide to avian flu for poultry farmers, the community most affected by the disease and key to mitigating its spread. This guide includes a general overview of avian flu, modes of transmission, signs and symptoms, biosecurity measures, and outbreak protocols, equipping farmers with the information they need to protect their farms and combat avian flu.
